Booking the Choir

What do I need to know?
Generally speaking the choir diary is fully booked 12 months in advance, so early planning is essential. In any case, it is our experience that an organisation needs to spend those 12 months planning. to get the best result from the concert. Have a date in mind and a suitable venue, then contact the Concert Secretary to see what dates are available.

What do I need to do?
When you have a date your work begins. Our Stage Manager will inspect the venue and advise on the necessary facilities, staging, piano, assembly space etc. You will need to have supporting artistes, (no-one wants to listen to the same choir all night), but if you want help with all the other areas involved ask our Concert Secretary, he is very experienced.

F.A.Q.
These are questions that have been answered in the past. If you have a question not listed please email us.

What are your travelling requirements?
We don’t mind travelling but you have to pay for the choir’s expenses. We pay for our own supporters’ travel costs.

What is your booking fee for a concert?
This is our main role. If you’re a charity all we want is 40 free tickets for our supporters. If you’re not a charity there will be a negotiable fee.

What if I only want part of the choir?
Sorry but you have to take the whole choir. Our stage manger can fit us into quite cramped conditions but if he can’t then we have a problem.

Can you organise our concert for us?
No. You’ll have to do this yourself. You must have a suitable venue with a tuned piano, and sell tickets to create a reasonable audience.

Can you help if we are only a small charity?
For small charities we organise a Christmas concert. You sell the tickets and get a proportionate share of profits once we have paid expenses

Do you sing at a wedding or funeral?
This is fee paying unless you’re related to a choir member. Even then it depends on whether members are available on your date.

Do you perform at corporate and private functions?
We do many sorts of private function for a fee. Sometimes the venue is a problem, but we’re flexible and can usually work something out.

How soon can I book the choir?
The choir does one concert a month. This means we’re usually booked over 18 months in advance. You have to try and fit in the choir’s diary.

How can I book the choir?
Charles Manfield is the choir’s Concert Secretary and has been a member for 15 years, singing baritone. He can be contacted if you would like to book Flint Male Voice Choir. Charles can be contacted by email at charlesmanfield@hotmail.com, by telephone on 01244 815525, and on mobile phone on 0785 5351174.
