Festival Concert in the Flint Festival. June 27th at the Pavilion Leisure Centre.
The Flint Festival goes from strength to strength so to save more exposure in Flint we will move our traditional Spring Festival in with the rest of the events.

These are our guests for this prestigious event, Ysgol Glaneathwy Junior Choir. Read all about them elsewhere in the programme.

National Eisteddfod, Bala, August 8th.
When the Eisteddfod was in Mold we were unable to compete because of the Interceltic Festival in Lorient. Our M.D. wants to see if there is good progress in our singing and what better place to prove it than this premier competition. We are trying for a third success here.

Gladstone Theatre, Port Sunlight. Saturday 29th August.
Another new venue for the choir. The theatre is a true community effort and puts on events throughout the year in a truly professional manner. We will try and uphold their standards.

Hanmer Church nr. Wrexham. September 18th
This is a new contact and venue for us, but the church has a reputation for hosting the finest choirs in the country and filling this wonderful church. We are definitely looking forward to this concert.

North Wales Association of Male Voice Choirs joint concert at William Aston Hall Wrexham. Sunday October 10th.
The Association have been trying to get such an event organised for some years and now have succeeded. 6 choirs from the North East area will come together for a feast of traditional male voice repertoire. Our conductor, Huw Dunley will be directing half of the concert in recognition of his fine work with Flint.

Ellesmere Port Civic Hall. November 20th
The choir has only performed here in competition (we won) so this is another new experience. The concert is in aid of Kidney Research and is organised by the Cheater branch of this very worthy charity.

Annual Charity Concert. December 19th at the Pavilion Leisure Centre.
The choir host this concert to help local charities and voluntary organisations who would be unable to host a concert on their own. They sell the tickets and get the proceeds for themselves. Now in it's umpteenth year and as successful as ever. Once again we welcome the Royal Buckley Town Band and some of the local children's school choirs. A great way to welcome the festive season.

2010

St. Marks Church, Connahs Quay. January 23rd.
We kick off the new year with this regular appearance. The welcome is always sincere, the audience appreciative and it's only just up the road. All places of worship need funds and we are happy to help.

White Rose Centre, Rhyl. February 28th .
Here we are combining St.David's Day, fund raising and recruitment in one fell swoop. We have appeared here on a number of occasions for a recruitment drive, now the management have asked us to go back and entertain their customers for this special weekend. We kill three birds with one stone.

Lowton nr. Wigan. Date in March to be arranged.
We have a big following in this area of Lancashire and have to return there every year, sometimes twice a year and always for a worthy cause. The welcome is vociferous, the hospitality superb so we really get to enjoy our visits. For more information later on visit the website, www.flintmalechoir.co.uk.

Spring Festival Concert, April 17th.
Where will it be, who will be with us, what will we be singing? It's a long way away, but rest assured, like tonight it will be worth finding out. As soon as we know ourselves, you, our public will know.

St. Ethelwolds Church, Shotton. May 22nd .
Like St.Marks this is becoming a regular venue for the choir and for the same reason. It is a lovely church and a lovely place to sing.

Leigh Parish Church. June 12th.
We have sung here before as one of our Lancashire excursions, this time it is to help with an appeal (no pun intended) to save the church bells. The venue is a traditional Anglican building, wonderful acoustic and a real pleasure to perform in. We always look forward to Lancashire.

Mostyn Parish Church. July 24th .
Once again helping to raise funds for a place of worship. Our only previous visit here was many years ago, testing for suitability for a recording session and as a final rehearsal before the trip to Austria. It is a lovely place and hopefully the local people will respond with their support.

August & September.
August means the Interceltic Festival in Lorient, Brittany. At the moment the organisers are trying to change the format of having a male voice choir represent Wales. Our representative is trying to change their mind because we love Lorient. We are also committed to a major tour this year and are in contact with a choir in New York who seem keen to host and organise some concerts. As a fall back idea there is an invitation to Ireland on the cards. We must wait and see.

Flint Young Musician October 16th.
Over the years we have organised this competition during the spring, March to May. We realise that these days young musicians have a lot on their plates at this time, exams, eisteddfods and other festivals. We have discussed this with them and their teachers and parents and will try an autumn date for 2010. The formula will be the same, the prizes and trophies the same, but it will be easier all round to get our full complement of entries.

Hafan Deg, Treuddyn. October 22nd
Awaiting further information.

Deeside Navy Club, Remembrance Sunday, November 12th .
The choir do not normally perform in social clubs unless there is a special occasion and this we feel is such an occasion. We will be at the Flint Cenotaph for the British Legion remembrance service in the afternoon then help the Navy Club with their celebration at night. Something very new for us.

Annual Charity Concert, December 12th.

Weddings.
From time to time the choir are asked to assist at wedding ceremonies, both to aid in the hymn singing and to entertain while the congregation assembles and during the register signing. If any couple wish to avail themselves of this service please contact us through the Concert Secretary,Gwyn Hughes on 01352 761889. Thanks. .
