Flint Festival, June 22nd to July 6th.
After the great success of the 2007 Festival, Flint Council are keen to repeat it and involve even more of the townspeople. There will be concerts, exhibitions and visiting artistes and the choir will be fully involved. So far, we will be giving a concert in the Gwynedd Primary School, Wednesday 25th , participating in the Cymanfa Ganu, (hymn singing festival) in St.Johns Church, Friday 27th and organising our mini Celtic Festival at Flint Castle on Sunday 6th July to close the festival. The choir are looking to build this last event into a real spectacle of Celtic music and would love to hear from interested groups and bands.

Flint Council are also keen to hear from similar groups to enhance the whole experience.

Lets hear from you.

Flint Castle. Sun. 6th July. ( If wet, at the Gwynedd School )

Celtic Festival.
Flint Male Voice Choir, Warrington Pipe Band and the Gwynedd School Dancers - commences at 6.30pm.

Admission £6.00 on the Gate. Bring a chair and a bottle !!

St.Thomas’ Church, Flint Mountain. Sat. 9th August.
The choir have sung to audiences in their thousands and have visited many exotic venues, and here we are in a small country church trying to help the congregation raise money to cure the dry rot in their building. We are more than happy to help. It’s what we do.

Mayor of Flint Charity Concert. Gwynedd School, Sat. 5th September.
We don’t like doing too many concerts in our immediate area, you cannot expect the same people to turn out all the time. However we have to honour our own town mayor, the council are very supportive and after all we are partners in promoting the “ancient borough”.

Womens Institute Annual Conference. Civic Hall Connahs Quay. Fri. 19th Sept.
A private entertainment for the delegates to the North Wales branch of this venerable institution. A first time again for us, let’s hope we can drag them away from their chatter.

Prestatyn Parish Church. Sat. 15th Nov.
Another church concert, this time in aid of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. The venue here is huge, almost cathedral like with wonderful acoustic. We are delighted to help such a worthy cause.

Mostyn O.A.P. Christmas Party Tuesday 2nd December
They have chased us for years to entertain at their party. We were able to fit it in last year and we will be there again this year. Everyone has a great time.

Annual Charity Concert, Saturday 20th December
Pavilion Leisure Centre, Flint.
The choir receives many concert requests from local volunteer groups, so many that if we accepted them we would be out every week and support would drop. This event is our answer. Any volunteer group can sell tickets and receive back a proportion of the price. Each year such groups receive at least £5.00 per ticket sold. Sell 10 get £50.00 back! What an opportunity. Contact the Ticket Secretary, Dennis Jones on 01745 563166.

Weddings.
From time to time the choir are asked to assist at wedding ceremonies, both to aid in the hymn singing and to entertain while the congregation assembles and during the register signing. This year we have four booked, so far, and if any couple wish to avail themselves of this service please contact us through the addresses given on this site. Thanks.
